PortableApps Platform 26.0: Download the New for Mac

The PortableApps Platform has released its latest version, 26.0, which brings a host of new features and improvements. One of the notable changes is the addition of a base set of file types that have unique icons and pre-defined file extensions.

For developers, this means they can now easily associate their app with one of these built-in file types, using their own icon or including a custom icon within the app itself. This allows for a more streamlined and visually appealing experience for users.

But what about additional file types? The PortableApps Platform also provides the option to define new ones. By including the specs for file formats in its Format 3.0, developers can now create their own icons for specific file types. And with the platform's ability to associate these custom icons with their appinfo.ini files, users will be able to easily recognize and interact with these new file types.
